FISHING - World Class Action - ActionBelize Style

HUGE CUBERA LANDED BY 12 YEAR OLD ON BELIZE CRUISE SHIP STOP-OVER

MARCH 15, 2003

We issued the challenge to get the "Monster" that was stripping our reels of 50# line in the Belize River.  That challenge was met 6 days later by 12 year old Tyler Coghlan from Bastrop, Texas in a dramatic 15 minute "run the reel off 4 times" fight.  This 100+ pound monster was finally gave up on the 80# test line.  Tyler (left) was accompanied by his younger brother Byden (right) and his father Terry.  It is fortunate this monster didn't jerk Tyler right out of the boat!  Congratulations Tyler and Coghlan family for a great catch in the ActionBelize waters!  Pictured with Terry holding the fish is ActionBelize master guide Sommers.  Terry indicates he will probably be back for an extended fishing package!

No need to fight rough waters... These fish are caught in the rivers of Belize.  Besides Snook and Cubera, other targets in the rivers of Belize are:  Tarpon, Barracuda, Jewfish, Jack Carvelle, and an occasional Shark.
There are also flats with abundant Bonefish and Permit, and all types of reef fish including Grouper, Snapper, Wahoo, Tuna, Kings, and more!  When purchasing a package with Action Belize, all the fishing mentioned is available.  However, due to the time considerations on the cruise ship stop-over, the RIVER FISHING is the best option.  (Our regular fishing guests come to Belize primarily for the river fishing.)

"Captain" Jeff Kivet owner of Cruise Value Center knows only too well the adrenaline pumping action of landing a snook this size.  Jeff himself became "hooked" on a cruise ship stop-over.

CONFIRMATION WILL BE SENT VIA EMAIL... BE SURE EMAIL ADDRESS IS CORRECT

FULL DAY INCLUDES:  A licensed professional guide / boat captain, boat, spinning and conventional equipment, ice, lunch on the boat, and delivery back to cruise ship tender area in plenty of time for you to catch your cruise departure.  Tackle boxes are also provided... you are welcome to use it all, but will be charged for LOST ITEMS.  This cost is usually minimal.  We have some local Belikan beer and sodas available for purchase at our marina.  We use a lot of artificial baits and our guides carry cast-nets to get live bait as needed and when available.  You will need to get off the cruise as quickly as possible to maximize your day.  Our fishing day usually starts at 7:00am and ends around 4:00 - 4:30pm.  We adjust this according to your cruise ship port schedule.  our goal is to show you fishing so we can lure you back for a full week of Action Belize!  We're going to do everything possible to show you the ACTION.  Fly fishermen need to bring your own fly equipment.

GOAL:  The goal is to get you hooked up, but we must confess a hidden agenda here... We are trying to get a hook in you!!  We want you back for a full week or more of Action in Belize!  We're going to do everything possible to show you the ACTION.

CHANGE OF SCHEDULE:  There is always a remote chance your cruise will reschedule the route or Belize arrival time after you get under way.  We always try to work out the new schedule and will be waiting for you on your new arrival date and time.  If for any reason the cruise ship by-passes the Belize port, or we have to cancel the trip for any reason, there is no penalty to you.

BOATS:   River boats are center console with live wells and bimini tops, ranging from 23-26 feet and powered by dependable YAMAHA (most boats are now the quiet 4-stroke).  Ladies... Most fishing ladies understand that these are open fishing boats with no restroom on board... shore leave (roughing it in the jungle) is available as well as the infamous "bucket" maneuver.

TIPPING:  Our guides will work hard for you.  Tipping the guide is appropriate.  A suggested minimum tip is $25.  (Example:  4 fishermen in a boat sharing tip is just over $6 each)

OUR GOAL is to give you the best day in Belize possible as we want you back with us in the future.  Action Belize is in this for the long-term... celebrating our 26th year now, and BELIZE IS THE ONLY THING WE DO!!   We are NOT affiliated with the cruise ship operations and are definitely NOT your typical cruise ship tourist trap.  Action Belize packages are the best thing going anywhere... great airfares, service, and value; we are constantly striving to be your #1 Belize choice!

RESERVE TODAY... WE HAVE A LIMITED NUMBER OF BOATS AND GUIDES.
and WILL GENERALLY SELL OUT... FIRST COME FIRST SERVED

NOTE:  Fishing has more than a 95% success rate as going according to plan, but there are certain conditions beyond our control that may render your trip unsuitable or unsafe.  Your safety is our primary concern.  If Action Belize has to cancel your trip, you will be refunded at 100%.  In no case will safety of the person or those nearby be compromised.
