Sample Itineraries

Three Sample Itineraries
These itineraries are provided to give you an idea of how much can be done at a comfortable pace. They can be applied to any of our packages as a guideline and all are weather dependent.  Note that snorkeling, kayaking, swimming, or fishing can be done any day.

DIVE THE ATOLLS       Return to Top of Page  
DAY 1
Pick up in Belize City.
Sail to Goff's Caye for a check-out dive or simply snorkel the afternoon away.

DAYS 2-3
Head out on the big blue ocean for a 4-5 hour sail.
Arrive at Turneffe Atoll where diving is great for the novice to the advanced!
Dive "The Aquarium" a shallow dive where everything is small and orderly.
Or dive "The Elbow", a deep drift dive 90' - 120' where you will see some of the largest Gorgonians found anywhere!   You might also choose to spend some time snorkeling, kayaking, or fishing.

DAYS 4-5
Sail to Lighthouse Reef. A 4-5 hour open ocean sail where we often encounter a large pod of Atlantic Spotted Dolphins.
Arrive on the Southwest side of the reef and dive along Long Caye Wall.
Once inside the Atoll, visit Half Moon Caye, one of the most beautiful tropical islands on earth.

DAYS 6-7
Dive the wall on the Southeast side of Half Moon Caye.
Dive the Blue Hole...
Or snorkel any of the hundreds of reef patches inside the Atoll.
On day 7, enjoy a relaxing sail back to English Caye.

DAY 8
Leisurely sail back to Belize City.
Drop off at dock.
 
EXPLORE SOUTHERN BELIZE        Return to Top of Page  
DAY 1
Pick up in Belize City.
Sail South towards Bluefield Range and Middle Long Caye.
Enjoy an evening swim or late afternoon snorkel.

DAY 2
Visit the remote and isolated rendevous Caye.
Lay in a hammock under coconut trees. Walk the beach.
Snorkel and dive the surrounding reef.
See spectacular coral and fish.

DAYS 3-4
Enjoy a relaxing 4 hour sail to Tobacco Cay.
Snorkel the "Cut" with hundreds of Tarpon. Dive outside the reef.
Visit with local folks at the beach-side bars.
Sail 1-2 hours to South Water Caye.
Dive and snorkel the reef.

DAYS 5-6
Kick back for a 2 hour sail to Hopkins, a small Garifuna village on the coast of the mainland.
Hike through lush jungle to see and swim in a beautiful waterfall.
Spend the evening hours listening to traditional Garifuna drum music.

DAYS 7-8
Sail to Placencia. Stop along the way to snorkel.
Visit the town of Placencia and buy a few gifts.
Take an evening stroll down the beach in Placencia and listen to local music.
Sail back to Belize City (time permitting) or fly to Belize City (additional cost).
 
POPULAR NORTHERN BELIZE          Return to Top of Page  
DAY 1
Pick up in Belize City.
Sail to Swallow Caye Manatee Sanctuary in hopes of a seeing a manatee.
Take an evening swim.
Enjoy the sunset, cocktails and a relaxing dinner.

DAY 2
Sail to Goff's Caye and/or English Caye.
Walk the beaches, snorkel the reefs.
Do your check out dive.

DAYS 3-4
Sail North to Caye Caulker, a fun and funky little island.
Explore the island town.
Check out the cool bars, Caribe food and artsy shops.
Dive the reef and snorkel Shark Ray Alley.

DAYS 5-6
Sail to San Pedro on Ambergris Cay.
Rent a golf cart and tour in style.
Rent wave runners or go parasailing (additional cost).
Windsurf and kayak.
Dive and snorkel the reef and the Hol Chan Marine Park.
Shop until you drop.

DAY 7-8
Hang out in San Pedro or sail south to a deserted island for more sun and fun, snorkeling, diving, kayaking, fishing.
Enjoy a leisurely sail back to Belize City.
Drop off at dock.

KAYAK and WATER SPORTS
• See sunrise and sunset from sea level.
• Wave Running and Parasailing rentals are available in San Pedro and Ambergis Caye.
• Arrangements can be made for these activities at additional cost.
FISHING
• Troll offshore in comfort.
• Fish from Legacy or from our launch.
• Bonefish the Flats.
• Professional Action Belize fishing guides/boats are available at additional cost for either river, flats or reef fishing.
• Cook your catch on our outdoor BBQ or have our chef prepare your favorite fish dish!
BEACH COMBING
• Explore islands.
• Beachcomb.
• Relax on sandy beaches.
• Hang in hammocks under coconuts palms.
STAR GAZING
Make a wish upon a star...See the Milky Way.
Away from city lights, the night sky is absolutely beautiful. The stars are so brilliant, it seems as though you can reach out and touch them.
MAINLAND ADVENTURE
A perfect compliment to your Legacy vacation. Choose from many inland excursions.
• Feel the power and mystique of the Maya.  Visit the many Mayan ruins.
• Tube the refreshing river waters.
• Visit the many wildlife sanctuaries, caves, waterfalls, rainforests and natural wonders of Belize.
